Drone photography in Miami, FL

The hardest airspace in South Florida and the densest construction market in it. Both facts are why the filing matters more here than anywhere.

Miami is Class B airspace, which is the most restrictive category over a major US city, and it sits directly over the part of town most people want photographed. Nothing about flying here is casual and a great deal of the drone footage you see of Miami was not flown legally.

It is workable with authorization. We hold Part 107, we file for the approvals, and we will tell you honestly at the enquiry stage whether an address is realistic and how much lead time it needs.

The work is vertical: high-rise progression through Brickell, Edgewater and downtown, commercial documentation, and progression sets that a lender or an owner can read at a glance.

Airspace over Miami

Miami International (MIA) holds Class B airspace over the core, with Miami Executive (TMB) and Opa-locka (OPF) covering ground to the south and north. We hold FAA Part 107 certification and file for the authorizations those shelves require, which is work you never have to see — but it is why an address here wants a few days of notice rather than a few hours.

Questions

Flying in Miami

Can you legally fly a drone over Miami?

In much of the city only with FAA authorization, because Miami International holds Class B airspace over the core. It is the most restrictive category over a major US city. We file for the approval; we do not fly without it.

How much lead time does a Miami flight need?

More than anywhere else we work. Authorization near a major airport can take several days, and Class B is the least forgiving. Bring us the address early.

Do you fly high-rise construction progression in Brickell?

Yes, and it is most of what we do in Miami. Same waypoints every visit so the series is comparable month to month.

Can you produce orthomosaic maps of a Miami development site?

Yes - orthomosaic maps and 3D models are part of the construction service.
