A family business that happens to fly

Papa's Aerial Services is a family owned and operated aerial photography company equipped with the latest in drone technology.

Quality and trust

The pilots on your job own the company

Papa's Aerial Services is family owned and operated. That is not a slogan about values; it is a description of who turns up. The people who answer the phone are the people who fly the drone and the people whose name is on the invoice, which is why a job that needs to move on a Friday afternoon generally moves.

We are FAA Part 107 certified, licensed and insured, and authorized to operate at night. We keep current equipment because the imagery is the product, and we deliver edited stills inside 24 hours because a listing that goes live on Saturday cannot wait until Tuesday.

Questions

How we work

What is your turnaround time?

We deliver edited still photos within 24 hours of the shoot. A week of notice before a shoot is ideal, but we are used to working with less and will move quickly when you need us to. Projects that need mapping, video editing or image stitching take several days on top of that.

How will I get my files?

For most projects we deliver edited digital photos through Google Drive within 24 hours of the shoot. You get an email with a link to an online gallery where you can download every file to your own device.

Do I need to be on site for the shoot?

Usually not. Our pilots can capture what you need without you there, and most clients prefer to brief us by phone or through our project intake form, which lets you set out your goals in detail. You are welcome to join us, though scheduling can take longer when it has to suit several parties.

Can you fly near an airport?

Often, yes. Some areas are off-limits or carry height restrictions, but we can fly near - and sometimes at - most airports once the necessary permission is granted. If you are not sure about a location, call us and we will check it.

Can you get FAA authorization for controlled airspace?

Yes. We can obtain FAA authorization to fly in proximity to a major airport. Approval can take several days, so bring us the project as early as you can.

What weather is best for a shoot?

It depends on what the images are for. For marketing photography, many clients prefer partly cloudy conditions: plenty of light, with enough cloud to give the sky some texture.

How do I book a shoot?
