Drone photography in Pompano Beach, FL

A city in the middle of rebuilding its own beachfront - which makes it the best construction progression market in Broward.

Pompano has an airport in the middle of it. Pompano Beach Airpark is one of the busiest general aviation fields in the state and its airspace covers a good share of the city, which catches out a lot of people who assume a small field means an open sky.

It is also, right now, the most interesting construction market in Broward. The beachfront redevelopment and the corridor along Atlantic Boulevard have produced more multi-month progression work here than anywhere else we fly.

Away from the towers it is a canal city - the Cypress Harbor and Harbor Village waterways, and the older single-family stock either side of Federal.

Airspace over Pompano Beach

Pompano Beach Airpark (PMP) sits inside the city limits, so the airpark's controlled airspace covers a large part of the flyable ground. We hold FAA Part 107 certification and file for the authorizations those shelves require, which is work you never have to see — but it is why an address here wants a few days of notice rather than a few hours.

Questions

Flying in Pompano Beach

Is Pompano Beach restricted airspace for drones?

Much of it is controlled, because Pompano Beach Airpark sits inside the city. A small field does not mean an open sky - it means a tower and an authorization.

Do you fly the beachfront construction sites?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do here. Progression work is flown to the same waypoints every visit so month six lines up with month one.

Can you show ocean access on a canal listing?

That is usually the whole point of the shoot. One frame from the right altitude shows the dock, the canal run and the inlet, which no ground photograph can.

How often should a Pompano construction site be flown?

Monthly suits most projects, moving to weekly through a critical phase. We fly daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly.
